About Those Illegal Immigrants and Mr. Wilson’s Rage…

Well, sometimes time is the best method for allowing things to just become clearer. A little sunlight may in fact be the best remedy for corruption. Fresh off a summer which culminated in a sad display of anger and resentment when an elected Congressman called our sitting President a liar in the House chamber should have us paying careful attention so we can learn and see for ourselves what that little spat was all about.

Well, our patience has been rewarded. As we extensively discussed on these blog pages , the exchange between Mr. Wilson and Mr. Obama seems to be an intellectual circle– a dual form of sophistry that has no good answer. There is indeed nothing in HR 3200 which would require care for illegal immigrants or provide coverage for them. There is also nothing explicitly denying such things either. So, just when you thought Mr. Obama may have been on the up and up here– another card gets shown from the Democrats hands. And, we really do not like what we see.

In a WSJ piece today, we learn that the Democrats on the Senate Finance Committee voted 13-10 to kill a proposal to require that immigrants prove their identity when signing up for federal health care programs.

So, the Senate Finance Bill that gets reported out this week will contain nothing about illegal immigrants being able to get subsidized care, but, that same bill would in no way require that if an illegal showed up at the “Get Your Free Government Care Here” sign up spot, they would be required to actually prove they are a citizen? What is going on here?

Gotcha. HCR 2009 continues it’s long, slow slide towards absurdity.

From the WSJ article referenced above:

“Chuck Grassley, the ranking Republican on the committee, said current procedures make it easy for illegal immigrants to use false or stolen identities to get benefits. But he ran into a buzz saw of opposition. Democratic Sen. Jeff Bingaman of New Mexico insisted such fraud was too rare to be worth worrying about: “The way I see the amendment, it’s a solution without a problem.”

NO, sure not a problem at all. Much the same way fictitious patients would never obtain prescriptions for controlled substances written by dead doctors at taxpayer expense…

    Or WOULD THEY http://www.takebackmedicine.org/?p=1574

And my friend, I will try and get some video converted tomorrow which was of Immigrants Rights folks arguing that immigrants should receive subsidized care, regardless of status. The vote went as you explain, and the advocates were out later the same day…. Update, thank you Windows Movie Maker.. Video support above…
