Richard Foster, the chief actuary for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, reports that under his analysis national health spending will rise under the bills by $222 billion over the next 10 years. In other words, ObamaCare really does “bend the cost curve”—up.

Current Health Care Reform bills envision $500 Billion in cuts to the Medicare program over the next decade.  These cuts are present in both House and Senate versions of HCR legislation.  We are told that such enormous cuts are necessary to reduce the cost of expanding coverage, and limit escalation of the Federal deficit.   These assertions are false.  Medicare funding can be preserved without increasing taxes, adding to the deficit, or curtailing benefits.  Unfortunately our Congress cares more about protecting a favored special interest than the catastrophic effects such cuts …
